Photography from the Heart
Forty years behind the lens. Six years writing it down.
This book grew from a simple idea: that photography is not complicated, but it requires attention. The technique is learnable by anyone. The eye takes longer. Both are worth the effort.
It began as a series of essays on IJM Photography and became, one question at a time, something closer to a single argument — about light, about looking, about what it means to make a photograph rather than just take one.
Photography from the Heart covers the exposure triangle, composition, lenses, film formats, street photography, and the full darkroom cycle — developing, scanning, and printing. Not a manual. More like a long conversation with someone who has made most of the mistakes already and kept going anyway.
