Doorways

Inside a German bunker at Pointe du Hoc, light coming through two embrasures and the doorways going back into the dark.

The concrete is intact where it is intact and gone where it is gone. Inside it is cool and quiet and smells of wet stone. Outside, the whole headland is craters, and you walk through them without much sense of scale until you drop into one.
