The lifting bridge at Bénouville seen from underneath — all counterweight and rivets. The original was taken just before midnight on 5 June 1944 by three gliders carrying D Company of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry under Major John Howard. It now stands in the museum next door. This is the one that replaced it, and it is still a working road bridge.

Pegasus Bridge, Bénouville, Normandy. August 2019. Canon 6D Mark II, 16–35mm.
